Christmas 2009

Alivia had a wonderful first Christmas. We spent the week in Pittsburgh with Alivia's Grandma and Grandpap. On the Tuesday before Christmas Alivia got her picture taken with Santa Claus at the mall. On Wednesday, Alivia's aunt ,Michelle, and cousins, Corey and Isaiah, spent the night with us. Alivia enjoyed watching the boys play Rock Band so much that she refused to go to sleep. On Christmas day we went to Alivia's great grandfather's house for dinner. Alivia got to meet her cousins, Krista and Heather, and her aunt and uncle, Heidi and Chris. She got a lot of beautiful clothes and some very nice toys.

Happy Baby!

Alivia is such a happy baby. She laughs when daddy talks to her and she loves hearing her own voice.

Alivia's First Thanksgiving

Alivia's had a great Thanksgiving with her family. Alivia supervised Mommy and Grandma cooking and watched Daddy deep fried a turkey. She can't wait until next Thanksgiving when she can actually have some turkey and a slice of pumpkin pie.

Two Month Doctor's Appointment

Alivia is getting so big! She weighs 9 lbs 5.5 ozs and is 21 inches long. Her Dr. was very pleased with her growth over the past month. Her next appointment is in January.

Alivia Meets Grandpa Mickey & Grandma Annette

Alivia met her grandma Annette and Grandpa Mickey this weekend. Alivia is getting big!

Alivia's First Halloween

Alivia celebrated her first Halloween over the weekend. She was a pumpkin and her big brother, Bailey, was Santa's little helper.

Our Baby Girl Continues to Grow

At Alivia's doctor appointment today we learned that she has gained another pound and a half since her last doctor appointment which was a little over two weeks ago. Alivia's doctor said that her grow is progressing very well and she is in the 90th percentile for height and weight.

Alivia will be dressed up for Halloween this year so be on the look for some pictures.

Alivia Turns One Month Old

Alivia turned one month old yesterday. This made Aliese and I realize just how fast time passes and how quickly children grow up. As a parent you must cherrish everyday with your children because before you know it they will be going off to college, getting married, and having their own children.

Alivia is doing great. Alivia's development continues to amaze us every day. Alivia's latest trick is picking her head up and moving it in the direction of whomever is speaking to her which is a good sign of how alert she is. Alivia has also been doing great with her breathing. Aliese and I are expecting that Alivia will be taken off her breathing monitor any day now. Yippie!!!!! Oh, BTW the Steeler won today just in case you didn't know. That means that the Steelers have won both games since Alivia has been home. I think she might be a good luck charm for the Steeler Nation.

Alivia's Second Dr. Appointment

Alivia had her week two doctor appointment today. The doctor said she has gained another 7 1/2 ounces so she now weighs 5 lbs. and 7 oz. Our little piggy loves to eat!

Alivia's First Steeler Game

Our newest Steeler fan enjoyed her first game at home with her mommy, daddy, grandma, and grandpap. It was a close game but our Steelers pulled it out. We're 2 -2 now and Alivia expects a Super Bowl this year.

Alivia's First Doctor Appointment

Alivia had her first doctor appointment today at Center City Pediatrics. Dr. Warren will be Alivia's doctor during our stay in Philadelphia. Alivia had a great first check-up. Since being discharged on Tuesday, Alivia gained 7 1/2 ounces. Dr. Warren was very impressed with the weight that Alivia has gained and said that Alivia is a very healthy baby. Alivia's next check-up is on Friday, October 9th.

Alivia's Arrival

Alivia Cornelia Bowers arrived on Thursday, September 17th. Alivia weighed 4 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 inches in length. After her arrival Alivia spent twelve days in the ICN at Pennsylvania hospital in Philadelphia. Alivia was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, September 29th and has been doing great since.
